This girl, I think I have another chance? Help?

This girl in my freshman year after winter break, started doing that stuff where she drops her books, tries running into me, etc. She was very popular and good looking, so she could get like any guy she wants. She is in my grade. So, I didn't think what it meant until it stopped and she started going out with a guy like a month after that. I'm not very popular, but I've been told I have like the best green eyes ever, and am pretty good looking. But she doesn't date guys for their looks or anything. Then, I started. Idk why, it's a different like. It's like if I ask myself, I'll say no, but I feel it. So, she wasn't in any of my classes, and we have such a large school, I doubt she'll be when sophmore year starts. What should I do? I wanna try when school starts up, but idk how when we don't have the same classes, and my one really popular friend who is friends with her, won't introduce me because he thinks I have no chance. At the last month or two of school, as we passed we would look each other in the eyes. More than a passing glance for sure. Advice? And no, I'm not trying facebook route. At spring break, I tried im-ing her as we are facebook friend. I said something along the lines of "I know we don't know each other, but we are friends and in the same grade at our high school. So hi." Then she said, "Idk u. Haha :)" My internet crapped out, so I couldn't till a few days later. Then, I forgot what I said, but I think it was just like "hi again, sorry I couldn't talk earlier." And she didn't respond this time. So I got too scared to ever try again.
