The question was: I had a car that was illegally parked on the street...?

I did not see any visible damages to that vehicle. My neighbor who witnessed the accident, assured me that there were no damages also. I figured I only had minor scratches... I later discovered--must to my dismay, that I had a large dent in my bumper. I understand that I would probably get a ticket. But, the owner of the car should also get one too, for being parked on the wrong side of the street. He did not call the police (and neither did I). I am sure it was because he knew he would get a ticket also. And we both know about Michigan's no-fault law... we are aware that it would not be worth it--on either one our parts to risk receving tickets--and getting our insurance rates raised. I know now that my insurance would pay under collision. Thanks for your input.
